Custom dining table that fit our home to a “T”

A custom table was not what we had in mind. I was scouring both online and physical shops for the “PERFECT” dining table. When we were looking for a table, we were open to wood, quartz, sintered and even marble top tables.

🛍️ Physical shops in Singapore were way too expensive for what it really was. Most wood tables (ahem…Grey and Sanders) were way too dark and didn’t fit our theme.

💻 Taobao had a lot of options, but we were concerned that the item delivered wouldn’t look the same as those in the pictures (I.e. how glossy the Sintered table top really is or how “solid” it feels). Also, because you cannot see or touch the item physically, reading reviews for online purchases (especially big ones) are 💢REALLY IMPORTANT. And we did purchase our dining bench and chairs from Taobao and they were great!

🛠️ So when push came to shove, and we had to make a decision for our table…and we decided that the only way we could have a table that had a certain level of quality and still fit the look of our home seamlessly, it would have to be a custom table.

6️⃣-8️⃣ Our 1.8m dining table, is able to host up to 8 pax (6 comfortably) at once, and I especially love that it is right beside the sink. Imagine, you don’t even have to stand up to put the dishes into the sink!

P.S. The fluted table legs totally match with the fluted design of the shoe cabinet in the entryway !

🪭 Oh and to address the elephant in the room…that fan above dining table. It was a newly launched Prism+ Oasis 46” fan in white. Though the specs are great on paper, it really is pretty useless when being put to use. There is barely any wind even on the highest speed (6) and you really need to be directly under the fan. I do have to caveat that only the 46” is useless. We have the same fan but 52” in our master bedroom and spare room and it works great, albeit with some time lag whenever you turn it on or change the settings on the remote or app.
