I turned 24 on the 24th! 🎂🎉✨

Happy birthday to me! 🥳

It’s my golden birthday right, and my Kobe year?! Except, each year, the older I get, the more stress I put on myself each birthday. What have I accomplished since my last? Am I at where I want to be? Should be? What is everyone else doing at my age? The list goes on. I am a chronic over-thinker and have been my entire life! 😵‍💫

As really young child, I always thought 24 was my magic number. By 24 I would have it all (whatever all was whenever I thought about it next, house, marriage, cars, infinite money, etc)… Since I don’t have it all, I kept telling everyone “sorry this birthday is canceled until further notice”! How nice would it be to pause time for a little anyways?!

I left work a little bit early, hit all green lights for the first time ever, got my free Starbucks (they even added EXTRA caramel drizzle), went on a quick Target trip and got surprised by my entire family at Korean bbq. I also got more gifts than I could’ve asked for! It was a good day! 🥹 I didn’t cry once (it’s my birthday and I’ll cry if I want to, and I usually do).

I also am trying to remind myself, that there is no timeline. That birthdays are just birthdays, not a day to dwell on everything I have and haven’t done. It is a day to celebrate everything I HAVE done and WILL do. 🥳
