Hey Lovelies 🧘🏻‍♀️

Today I wanted to share three things/ brain farts that really keep me motivated in achieving my own body goals. I’ve to add a disclaimer, I’m not a professional or life coach, but these are the things that have helped motivated me over the past year.

🧠Why build/ have body goals?

Aside for aesthetic reasons, I really think that working on my own body is a journey and a fruit of my labour. Adulting life is shit enough, toxic people come and go, but the one thing that we really need to take care of is our health. I feel that building on my own body not only gives me a sense of purpose (although it’s not my only purpose 😅, ygwim), but I really enjoy growing and seeing my progress. It’s something that I’m doing for myself, and I feel proud of myself for wanting to work on my body too.

No matter where yall at, what your goals are, here are My Top Three tips:

✅ SHOWING UP

They say that showing up is harder than the actual exercise. Sometimes after a long day, the last thing you want is to go running. I’ve been through several cycles of those and found myself spiraling down the potato track, and at the end of the day I feel even worse than going for that run. Consistency is key - it’s like pedaling on a bike - if you just pedal once, your bike will fall. The first few pedal strokes take a lot of energy, but after a while it gets easier. I used to HATE running, but I’ve made it part of my weekly routine. Set a goal, track your progress, watch yourself grow 🌳

✅ MIX IT UP with a VARIETY

get involved in different exercise activities! There are a lot of benefits to cross training, and tbh it can get pretty dry just sticking to one exercise routine all the time 😟 walk, run, cycle, hike - these are all low cost/ free activities. Check out studios for first timer trials - some places have free trials, or heavily discounted first time class packages.

✅ GOOD COMPANY

I talked about this in my previous post. Grab a buddy, be accountable to each other. Activities are usually more fun with friends anyway 🙃 you don’t have to be good at the exercises yall do together, laughing at each other works out the core too 🥰
