comfort food in the west 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

really needed some comfort food during midterms preparation and what better food for the soul that a nice cheap chinese dinner 🤪

tucked away at the corner of grantral mall is meet noodles, a chinese eatery specialising in beef noodles 🤗 they have both hand pulled noodles and rice noodles, with the latter having a more chewy texture, as well as rice and chinese burger (肉夹馍), a huge variety indeed 🥳

🍚 BRAISED BEEF RICE ($7.50)

it looked unassuming at first but i was wowed by the flavour the gravy had 😋 it went so well with the rice and the meat is tender too !!! i devoured this and still wanted more 😅 it was just that tasty and i would highly recommend this !!!

🍜 BEEF VERMICELLI ($7.50)

the soup was a little tasteless but ll cooked up a ghetto version of suanlafen by adding some vinegar and chilli 🤣 the rice noodle portion that they gave was HUGEEEE tho and ll was quickly full from it so i had to eat a quarter of the noodles… their portion size is no joke… though i would have hoped for the soup to have more flavour ☹️

there’s a student deal ongoing all day on weekdays, where you can get a free side dish + free flow drinks when you order a main dish that’s more than $6.90 !!! it’s honestly so worth it because this deal can be gotten by ordering almost any main on the menu hehe perfect for broke students like us 🥹

we had shredded potato and cucumber with tofu as our side dishes and we loved them both !!! hit the spot fr 😮‍💨

when we went at 8+ the shop was packed with china people so it’s a testament to their delicious food !!! it was as if i got teleported into a nice little eatery in china and it made me feel right at home 😌

i would totally go back and try their chinese burger 🤓 that looks so juicy… as well as their dry noodles 🤩

they also have $6 promotions every day of the week 🥳 one different noodle goes on sale every weekday and for weekends it’s fried dumplings 🫢 what a steal fr perfect for a cheap meal if you’re in the clementi area !!!

also we found it so funny that there’s a computer in front of the stall and people are playing black myth wukong there LOL
