best of both worlds: work-friendly w solid grub 🤤

amidst the craziness of #My9to5 , i'm sure you'd related that there are some weeks where things get a little crazy and you need to get some work done over the weekend 😮‍💨 when that happens, i sometimes feel a bit demotivated or lethargic to get to work at home — so i head out to hunt for #workfriendly spots to romanticise the extra work day. while i used to have a usual haunt, i didn't have a new place that i could visit in mind — until i found the little rogue coffee in tanjong katong!

cafes that are really work-friendly aren't easy to find these days - when more cafes have taken to limit the dining duration to ensure a healthy turnover of the tables. but maybe little rogue could afford to do so since they have a relatively large space with a variety of table sizes (from a mini chair on the outside to a large table for bigger groups)? i'm not sure — but either ways i'm not complaining 🤍 i dropped by on a sunday afternoon and i was pretty surprised that there was still quite a few seats available.

there were quite a few solo patrons working at the shared table at the entrance - which might just be the most conducive work spot in the cafe 👀 because of the natural lighting coming in from the pavement! there's also a ceiling fan above the table to ensure that you're kept cool with the A/C all around. overall, the tables are also well-spaced out such that even though there were quite a few people in the cafe that day, it was still quiet enough for calls when needed! while i didn't pay special attention to ensure the availability of power plugs, i would imagine that there may be some hidden ones lying around 👁️

in terms of vibes, the staff are definitely friendly and attentive — and the space overall just feels light and welcoming, with a sense of spaciousness and breathability. this makes the cafe conducive for work, but also a solid spot for a decompress if you're able to let work simmer aside.

besides being a work friendly spot, they've also got the fuel to keep you going with a wide variety in their menu — be it breakfast, brunch or lunch. we didn't try much while we were there because we had lunch elsewhere but we got the charred brussel sprouts ($12) and for something this simple, we were kinda blown away 🥦 loved the tangy notes from the apple cider glaze and the serving size was so generous - we kept going and there was still more left 🤤 definitely recommend if you love some charred veges!

for drinks, we got the tea cap ($8) which is a cold brew tea with cream foam 🍵 and the seven spice chai latte ($6.5) 🥛 between the two, the former was definitely more unique and worth it; we really liked that it was smooth and easy to drink since it was well-balanced; the foam gave the otherwise bitter but fragrant tea a sweet twist, which kept it refreshing! that said though, the chai latte was a tad diluted / not as fragrant as i would usually love from chais. but overall, it was still pretty decent.

with that, i guess i'd recommend to stop by — regardless of whether you're working or just looking for a spot to relax and people watch! one thing i loved is that i noticed how they continuously grow and iterate with their menu, with new items once in awhile - that keeps things fresh! i'll definitely be back to try more mains — till then, run don't walk my besties!
