Officially a NSGF 😔 — NS Care Pack Guide 2024🫡🪖

As the title suggests, YES my time has come... I am officially a NSGF

Today is the 3rd day my boyfriend has left & I feel soo bored... it is not helping that I don't have school or work at the moment 😳🥹 so I don't really have anything to distract me from his absence & I am literally waiting for time to pass every single day......

Anyway, prior to his enlistment, as the good girlfriend I am, I did my research & got him a NS care pack! 😇😇

So in this post, I will be sharing the items I got him so that he can survive better during his confinement :D #storytime

*I got most of the items from Venus & Guardian

*For snacks - I got them from my local supermarket 😊 anywhere sells them honestly, probably only a few cents different (but if you can save, just save !!!!)

1. Shoe Box

I happen to have an old shoe box @ home so I used that to store everything to make it more organised (rather than putting all the items in a bag ykwim) 😀

I pasted colour paper on the outside & inside of the shoe box for it to look more pleasant 🤣

But If you don't mind spending the extra $$ , you can buy a big plastic box from daiso? or japan home..... I didn’t think it's a need, since they won't be bringing the box into tekong also 🙊

2. Febreze (ard $6)

I thought I was being extra getting him this but after seeing how his living conditions were (cuz I followed him to tekong), I strongly feel this is a must have!

As tekong is a shared space, hundreds of people have probably lied on the bed that he is sleeping on 💀 Idk how clean it actually is... and they probably haven't changed the mattress in YEARS.... 🙁

It's quite a huge bottle, so he can use every night or once every few days & he even shared with his buddy 😁

3. Wardrobe Fragrance bag (ard $2-$3 each)

Got this for him to hang in his locker to get rid of the stank! from all his & his mates' perspirations 🫠 Might not have gotten the correct one tho.. this shows that it's a refill.... this might even be for the car LOL but it's ok! As long as it does the job of releasing fragrance, it works 😉

4. Snake Brand Cooling Powder (ard $3)

I have never used this before... but I know that everyone who has, always have something good to say about this powder!

I think it's just that when you apply, got the 凉凉 feels 😂 But I can understand how this can be a lifesaver for them because it is like a sauna in there (especially now that it is so hot & humid!)

5. Dove Body Wash (ard $2)

I wanted to get him the Gatsby cooling body wash but I couldn't find it in the Venus I was at !! urgghhhh

Honestly, any body wash works.... it serves as a cleaning agent after a long day of activities 😮‍💨 But idk if this size (200ml) is sufficient to last him for 2 weeks+ tho.. what do you think?

6. Adidas Deodorant Body Spray ($3.50)

This smells really good!! I super love musky scents 😆

Not that I'm the one using it, but my boyfriend isn't really a huge fan of deodorants (he only uses perfume; all of which I bought for him 🤦🏻‍♀️) but I figured it is a must-have in there 🥹 even if you don't stink, other people might (or would..), so he can lend it to them!! Let's be real... being in a room with almost 20 guys, after all the physical training... I can only imagine how it'll smell 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️

7. Mosquito Repellent Patch (ard $7-8)

This was the most expensive item out of everything I bought! & there are only 10 pieces?! Not even enough to last him for the 2 weeks that he's inside..

I figured the patch would be better than the spray,, cuz imagine he alrd niam niam then want to put on a spray?! Extra discomfort pls..

Actually I got it for him to use when he sleeps in case there are mosquitoes but he says so far there is no issues so he hasn't use 'em yet :D that's great news!

8. Hansplast Plaster (ard $1.50-$2)

This I feel is secondary... if they get a cut or smth, I'm sure the sergeant/ medic/ office has plasters to spare right 🤨🤨 But I just got him a pack for stand-by because sometimes he can get a little clumsy..... & he currently has an injured toe 🥺 so @ least he has some band aids on him in case he really needs them asap!!

9. Roihi-Tsuboko Pain Relief Patches

I recently went to Japan & got these from there! They work wonders!!

I packed some for him in case he feels sore from all the physical & strength training :>

Honestly, salonpas works just as fine but since I had soo many of these - I gave him some :D

10. Wet tissues & Tissue packets

I only gave him a couple packs since he already had some on him... but I think it still isn't enough... He needed more wet tissue than he thought 😂 so now he is using them sparingly.. so PARTNERSS!! if you've read till here - make sure to stand by more wet tissue packets for him !!

That's all I can fit in the pictures (Lemon8 only allows 10 images) but there are other things I've also prepared for him/ he has packed on his own so let me briefly share! ⬇️⬇️

1. Cap - If your boyfriend is shy to embrace his botak head, get him a cap!

2. Eyedrop - If your boyfie has sensitive eyes, it's best to bring an eyedrop.. people react differently to the air there.. especially since the air particles can get quite stale/ dirty 🥶

3. Cooling Face & Body wipes - That refreshing feeling can really help lift up their mood lol.. sometimes after their activities/ trainings, they get pockets of break time so they can use these wipes to freshen up!! (since by right, they aren't supposed to go shower 🫥)

4. (Healthier choice) Snacks - In case they get hungry @ night! But I heard they are not permitted to bring their own drinks (?) I bought my boyfriend packet milo but his friend said it wasn't allowed & they would confiscate it ☹️

5. Coins - I heard that there are vending machines in there 🤔 so they can use their own money to buy some sweet drinks to replenish their energy !!!!

I trust that all the army bois (& their loved ones 😌) will be strong enough to get through this tough period, especially my boyfriend!!!! ❤️❤️
