Skip the queues - ETS to Penang Ferry

If you're heading to Penang from Butterworth, taking the ferry is a great option. It only takes 10-15 minutes, there’s no traffic jam, and you get to enjoy beautiful views of the Penang coastline!

The ferry terminal in Butterworth is conveniently located right next to the KTM station. After exiting Butterworth station, just follow the ferry signs for about a 10-minute walk to the terminal. The entire route is covered and air-conditioned, so no worries about the sun or rain.

There are 3 ways to get your ferry tickets:

1️⃣ Buy on-site (you’ll need to queue)

2️⃣ Use your TNG card (no queues)

3️⃣ Buy online in advance from Penang Port (same-day purchase and use, no queues)

For adults, it’s best to buy tickets online while on the ETS. When you arrive at the ferry terminal, you can go straight in with no waiting!

‼️ Note: Kids under 12 need to get tickets at the counter, and those under 5 can ride the ferry for free!
