How to make Fish Roe Tofu?
Ingredients:
• 200g silken tofu
• 50g fish roe (salmon roe or any preferred type)
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon mirin (optional)
• 1 teaspoon sesame oil
• 1 clove garlic, finely minced
• 1 green onion, finely chopped
• Salt and white pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Tofu:
• Carefully cut the silken tofu into bite-sized cubes. Be gentle to maintain the tofu’s shape.
2. Steam the Tofu:
• Place the tofu cubes on a heatproof dish. Steam the tofu for about 5-7 minutes until heated through.
3. Prepare the Sauce:
• In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin (if using), sesame oil, minced garlic, salt, and white pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
4. Assemble the Dish:
• Once the tofu is steamed, remove it from the steamer and carefully transfer it to a serving plate.
• Spoon the prepared sauce evenly over the tofu cubes.
5. Add the Fish Roe:
• Generously top the tofu with the fish roe. The amount can be adjusted based on your preference.
6. Garnish:
• Sprinkle finely chopped green onions over the dish for a pop of color and added flavor.
7. Serve:
• Serve the Fish Roe Tofu immediately while it’s warm. Enjoy this elegant and delicate dish as a light appetizer or a part of a larger meal.
