How to make Vietnamese Vermicelli Noodles ?

Ingredients:

• Vermicelli Noodles (Bún):

• 200g dry vermicelli noodles

• Grilled Pork:

• 300g pork shoulder or belly, thinly sliced

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 tablespoon sugar

• 2 tablespoons fish sauce

• 1 tablespoon soy sauce

• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

• 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

• Fresh Vegetables and Herbs:

• 1 cup lettuce, shredded

• 1 cup bean sprouts

• 1 cucumber, julienned

• Fresh mint leaves

• Fresh cilantro leaves

• Toppings:

• Crushed peanuts

• Fried shallots

• Fish Sauce Dressing (Nước Chấm):

• 4 tablespoons fish sauce

• 2 tablespoons sugar

• 2 tablespoons lime juice

• 1 cup water

• 1 clove garlic, minced

• 1 chili, thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Vermicelli Noodles:

• Boil water in a large pot. Add the vermicelli noodles and cook according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.

2. Marinate the Pork:

• In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, vegetable oil, and black pepper. Add the pork slices and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Grill the Pork:

• Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated pork until fully cooked and nicely charred, about 3-5 minutes per side. Remove from heat and set aside.

4. Prepare the Fish Sauce Dressing:

• In a bowl, mix fish sauce, sugar, lime juice, water, minced garlic, and chili slices (if using). Stir until the sugar dissolves. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

5. Assemble the Dish:

• In serving bowls, place a portion of vermicelli noodles. Top with grilled pork slices, shredded lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber, mint, and cilantro. Sprinkle crushed peanuts and fried shallots on top.

6. Serve:

• Serve with the fish sauce dressing on the side. Pour the dressing over the noodles and mix well before eating.
