How to make Japanese-Style Beef Sukiyaki?
Ingredients:
• Beef: 200 grams, thinly sliced
• Tofu: 1 block, firm and cut into cubes
• Mushrooms: 100 grams, a mix of shiitake and enoki
• Napa cabbage: 1/4 head, chopped
• Green onions: 3 stalks, cut into 2-inch pieces
• Shirataki noodles: 1 package, drained
• Carrot: 1, sliced into thin rounds
• Dashi: 1 cup
• Soy sauce: 1/2 cup
• Mirin: 1/4 cup
• Sugar: 2 tablespoons
Instructions:
1. Prepare Ingredients:
• Thinly slice the beef.
• Cut tofu into cubes.
• Chop napa cabbage and green onions.
• Slice mushrooms and carrot.
2. Make the Sukiyaki Sauce:
• In a bowl, mix dashi, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar until sugar is dissolved.
3. Cook the Sukiyaki:
• Heat a large pot or sukiyaki pan over medium heat.
• Add a little bit of oil and sauté the beef until it starts to brown.
• Pour the sukiyaki sauce over the beef.
• Add tofu, mushrooms, napa cabbage, green onions, shirataki noodles, and carrot to the pot.
• Simmer until all ingredients are cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.
4. Serve:
• Serve hot, directly from the pot, with rice and raw egg (optional) for dipping.
