Study what MAJOR to secure your future?

was the silliest question I asked myself (and my people).

Before you straight up slaaaap 👋 me left and right because "it's important, it's ur future!!", hear me out.

I changed majors twice. Then I graduated with honors in accountancy. My first job was sales. And guess where I am at now? Learning and Development 😂

C'mon how more non-linear this could be right. But Im glad I made all those changes to get to where I am at now.

I was always taught to think far ahead, and to choose the career that will get me a job easily. I did. I thought this must be the safest path. It has got to be.

But seriously, visualising these:

😱 the majors that are popular now, will they still be popular 4 years from now?

🥹 the career paths that seem safe and secured now, are they really?? Anymore??

🤢 let's say you have that good high paying job that u studied a 4 year bachelor for, but u HATE it sooo much, it drains you sooo much and you feel like you're just passing days. Do you think you can stick to that job/ career in the long run?

I couldn't. Despite knowing all companies need accountants, knowing auditors can earn big bucks if you stick around long enough, knowing I studied really hard for the degree, I left.

⚠️ At the end of the day, you really can't be sure of what you will actually do in the future. 20 years ago, nobody thought about "creating content online" could be a real job. Same goes for you.

👉🏻 The job you might end up doing (and love it) might not even exist yet.

📢Just study what you are INTERESTED in right now. Everything else can be learned as you go.
