Come thrift with me: Wedding Dress edition

I’ve always been a fan of thrifting so the moment I got engaged, I dreamed of thrifting my wedding dress ✨ So I decided to drop by The Salvation Army Praisehaven Mega Family Thrift Store (also look at the macaque(s) i saw right outside the shop)

The dresses here mainly ranged from $40-$200 which is pretty affordable for a wedding dress! Bear in mind a number of the dresses are most probably bought from Taobao then donated as some are BNWT with random chinese labels on them.

Dress 1: I felt like I was being wrapped in tissue paper but the vision is there 😂

Dress 2: Honestly I don’t think this is a wedding dress but would be perfect as a pws dress

Dress 3: Front panels were uneven. Cape sleeve was interesting. Back is pretty tho!

Dress 4: Would be perfect for those looking to do a simple solemnisation

Dress 5: Pretty and fit well but has VPL. Didnt flatter my body :( emphasised my tummy :(

Dress 6: Was a little loose, but has potential for a white tea ceremony dress

Dress 7: A-line silhouette, didn’t really like the back

Dress 8: Halter sequined white dress, also more for a simple solemnisation

Dress 9: This dress fit me like a glove! Hid my tummy well hehe. But it has VPL and didn’t like how u could see the inner lining of the dress cut across my legs. (This dress was $40!!!!!) ((so i bought it LOL but would I wear it for my wedding? hmm maybe just for pws hahahahah))

A tip for those planning to head here to try wedding dresses: Please bring along a close friend/helper with you! Many of the wedding dresses here have a lace up/corset back which is impossible to tighten alone 😵‍💫. I came alone so I mostly tried zip up dresses! I did try 1/2 lace up dresses but eventually gave up on wearing them 😅 (i think i was stuck for a good 10mins trying to put them on properly LOL) So I think that really limited the number of dresses I was able to try on 🥲
