Come get Ecuadorian food with me!

If you’re located in New York City, and you love to try new foods, this post is definitely for you.

I was born in Queens, where we have so much Latin food from all different countries : Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina & Peru. Particularly in Jackson Heights, there’s so much of it everywhere it really feels like you’re in Latin American country.

Having moved to the city fairly recently, I was hoping to find new Ecuadorian food near me.

I went to Met Cloisters this day, and after spending the whole day exploring the area there, we drove around and were trying to decide what we wanted to eat.

We were in the moood for Ecuadorian food, so when we looked it up on Google, we found this place, Genesis. The address is 538 W 207th St.

I was so excited when I got there because the food was actually from La Costa, the area where my family is also from, so I’m most familiar with this cuisine.

The empanada de verde was INCREDIBLE! One of the best I have tried.

The bolon de queso (pretty much fried plantain with cheese) was amazing and not too heavy. It was surprisingly light and not too fried.

The maduros were good as well, but the chaufa rice was not as delicious as I would normally be in other places.

Either way, we had an excellent experience and I would definitely go back! I also appreciated how good the service was :)
