Why I won’t be visiting it again ❌

As we all start planning for our year end trips and activities, I couldn’t help but recall how awful our experiences were at Genting Highlands Theme Park. Here are some things to avoid or to do, in order to maximise your time at the theme park!

To avoid:

1. Carrying too many things

Honestly, the bags situation was quite a hassle as there weren’t any noticeable storage areas around the park. Most of the time, we had one person carry our belongings and it tends to get quite annoying after a while since we all just want to have fun!

2. Relying on the VR Queue function 👉🏻

It didn’t work at all for us and looking at some of the many reviews that were left by other theme park goers, it didn’t work for them as well. Even though we were given free ‘priority passes’, they proved to be useless.

3. Having high expectations

Even if you were already planning to dedicate a whole day for the rides, just know that you most likely won’t be able to finish all the rides you wanted (unless you are damn lucky and legit plan until damn well) mainly because a lot of the rides actually had technical difficulties so you physically weren’t able to enjoy the rides.

To do:

1. Choose your battles

Conquer the ones that you know will have a longer waiting time so that even if there’s a longer waiting time, you will still be able to ride a ride that actually makes you happy! Good planning also makes a difference. Plan the shortest route to the rides so that you won’t waste time looking for the rides.

2. Check the weather for that day ☀️

Akin to visiting the USS, you need to be dressed appropriately to minimise discomfort especially if you’re visiting Genting during the end of the year when the temperature drops! There is a merchandise store inside and stores in the mall but not sure if you want to spend extra 💵 just to keep yourself warm

3. Buy your tickets online

Something that we did right was to buy the tickets beforehand so we didn’t have to queue for them! Albeit the app was a little wonky and could have been better… it definitely made it a lot easier and less frustrating for us.
