my honest experience @ SOTA Makers’ Market

hi zesties 🍋! WELCOME TO MY FIRST POST where i’ll be telling you my boothing experience at SOTA on sept!!

as it was my first booth, my friend and i decided to share a table together, it was about $250 after discount for 3 days (fri to sun) which sounds decently okay for the location!

anyway i sold all my crocheted products there ranging from small amigurumis, jap fish cakes, to wearables like bags, hats and headbands while my friend also made some items & sold her thrifted clothes as well!

i was super scared that no one would buy since my ig has literally >100 followers 😭😭😭 BUT MANY CAME by to purchase & see see look look hehe!! i was so glad i had customers on the first day

I SAY THAT BECAUSE shockingly unfortunately saddeningly, saturday was super slow 🫠 there was barely any human traffic and it was also bc there’s no students arnd.. we were so bored that we started to talk to other vendors - it was quite interesting since most of them boothed multiple times before elsewhere & they were so helpful to suggest some organisations to a newbie like me 🥰

If you’re looking to booth, i would think this is a decent place to start & would booth there again! But bear in mind that many of the traffic comes from students from SMU&SOTA so it might not be suitable if your products doesnt target that age range~ i would also suggest asking a friend along even if they’re not sharing booth w you since it can get boring, and sometimes overwhelming to have to entertain a sudden huge crowd at your booth 😊 please also bring lots of water & a fan its super hot!
