Made this tonight for my husband and I, and our 2 kids. He even has a small container of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Ingredients: 🤍
•1 pound bottom round steak - thinly sliced against the grain
•1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
•1 tablespoon corn starch
•1 tablespoon Water
•1/4 teaspoon baking soda
•3 cups broccoli florets (I used fresh, but you could use frozen if that’s all you have)
•1 tablespoon avocado oil
•1/2 of a yellow onion - sliced
FOR THE SAUCE: 🤍
•1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium
•1 tablespoon brown sugar
•1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
•4 cloves garlic minced
•1 tablespoon ginger - powder or fresh
•1 tablespoon sesame oil
•1/2 cup beef broth
•2 teaspoon cornstarch
How To:
1.)Slice the steak thinly against the grain.
2.)In a large bowl, whisk together the 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon corn starch, 1 tablespoon water and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda.
3.)Add the sliced meat and toss to fully coat, set aside.( I did this step 2 hours before dinner so it was ready to go when I wanted to cook it)
4.)Whisk together the ingredients for the sauce, set aside.(I also did this step 2 hours early and just made sure to stir it when I was ready to cook)
5.)Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. 6.)Add 1 tablespoon avocado oil (or oil of choice). 7.)When oil is hot, add the steak.
8.) Cook until beef is browned on both sides, about 5 mins total.
9.) Add broccoli, sliced onions and the sauce to pan, stir to coat everything, and cover. Allow to cook until broccoli is bright green crisp-tender, about 5 minutes.
10.)Remove from heat, stir again to coat in sauce and serve.
We had ours with basmati rice.
ENJOY! 😉
