Quiet Time

Matthew 26 definitely hit my heart 🥲 Jesus’ love is so unconditional and we are so undeserving! I had to meditate on my own heart posture to see if I would ever be able to do what Jesus did for us ( I could never 🙃) Knowing you’re about to be betrayed yet STILL giving grace and love? Knowing his disciples that he broke bread with and traveled with ALL run and flee?? It absolutely broke my heart! That made me realize that what people have done to me is nothing compared to what Jesus endured, so why not give extended grace no matter who and what it is for? We gotta walk everyday like Christ!

Here’s some other key points I found:

• Jesus is God and man. I realized he experienced deep sorrow and even frustration throughout the book like when the disciples constantly showed their lack of faith when Jesus kept performing miracles in front of them 😭 I would’ve been like be fr! How many times I gotta show yall 🙄🤣

• That also allowed me to see that we can still worry but have faith. We can still feel angry, happy, sad, frustrated, scared, etc and STILL move in faith. If Jesus can feel those emotions himself, why would we sit here and act like human emotions don’t exist? As if we’re not allowed to FEEL things. The only difference is that He moves 100% according to His faith and obedience to Our Father. We see the disciples have faith but when that faith gets tested they fled and moved off of their emotions.

• Feel your emotions but MOVE IN FAITH 🫡🫡

• We also see what walking like Jesus is like vs walking like the other disciples who constantly overestimated their faith in Him during this time.

• This is the battle between believers! There is a lesson on falling away completely and backsliding 👀

• Apostasy is knowing God and rejecting Him completely like Judas. He was sorry but wasn’t sorry enough to repent which ultimately lead to his own suicide.

• Backsliding is falling back into our sinful nature. Peter denies Jesus three times and once he heard the rooster crow, he immediately began to weep. Peter slipped but he didn’t fall because this is where his repentance began. We see how he was redeemed by the grace of God later on to preach the gospel.

• If you’ve backslid, get right! I’ve been there before. Come as you are and don’t be afraid to come back. Look at what Jesus endured for each and every one of us. That’s unconditional love. The price to pay for not getting back in alignment with God is too high to pay my dear. God calls upon those who seem unqualified in the world’s eyes. Let’s bring you back home so we can rejoice in the joy of the Lord ✝️💗
