April Reads!

I’ve been trying to read instead of doom scroll at night, but it was a light reading month for April. It was a busy month! But I still got three books in, so let’s check them out!

Never Lie: Finished this book in four hours because I literally couldn’t put it down!! I really like Freida McFadden and her writing style is super fast paced, which helps hold my attention. I thought I had this one figured out early, but I was DEAD wrong ⭐️Overall rating: 4.5/5

Out of the Ashes: I was really hopeful after a great first couple chapters, but the writing quickly fell flat to me. And the characters! There were so many and trying to remember who was who and who was related to whom (I swear, everyone had at least two cousins in this story) was overwhelming and distracted from the plot. The end was a surprise, but I felt let down overall. ⭐️Overall rating: 2/5

The Holiday Home: This was a super quick read and actually a fairly short book. It was entertaining, but pretty predictable. I started out feeling sympathetic toward the characters, but it didn’t last. Overall a decent read, but not one I’d write home about. ⭐️Overall rating: 3/5
