Why We Made The Small Room Our Bedroom (3-rm BTO)

Why did we decide to sleep in the smaller bedroom instead of the master bedroom?

Usually, folks like a spacious, luxurious bedroom to sleep in. But our thinking was: most of the time we spend in our bedroom is spent unconscious (sleeping), so a “nice” bedroom honestly isn’t a priority for us.

All we needed was a place to rest and enough space to store our clothes; the smaller bedroom was more than plenty. On the other hand, since we work from home on our own business, the larger space of the master bedroom made a lot more sense for an office.

The odd recess in the bedroom just screamed “wardrobe space” to us, and it felt like it was meant to be. Being self-employed and working from home meant we didn’t need to dress up for the office every day, so we didn’t have many clothes anyway.

After looking around for inspiration, we found Muji plastic boxes and a wall-hung clothes rack from IKEA that fits just nicely into the space. Tada! Our minimalist bedroom was conceptualized and brought to life.

Don’t be afraid to switch things up; the conventional layout may not be the ideal one for you!
