Trying out work-from-cafe: SYIP 2.0

I was searching around for cafes to work in the afternoon in the east as I didn’t want to get stuck in the office the entire day. And that’s when I chanced upon SYIP (Luzerne)!

🧱 The space

I really liked how spacious the space is! Much bigger than its Farrer Park outlet. The menu is different and while the food is pretty decent, I think I prefer the Farrer Park outlet’s menu more (first world problems).

I arrived around 1.30pm and it was rather packed with the lunch crowd. But by 2.30pm or so, the crowd had almost dispersed.

🔌 Power

Not every corner has power outlets though - I’ve noticed only about three. So, remember to request to sit near the power outlets if you need! The staff were really friendly and helpful when I asked to switch tables to a more conducive corner for my calls.

🛜 WiFi

I had some issues with my mobile network. Not sure if it was the small corner I was at initially. But anyway, I did ask for WiFi access which the staff very kindly provided too. All good for Zoom calls!

🚇 Location

If you’re taking the public transport, Bendemeer is the nearest station and it takes only about 5-10 min walk.

Do note that the cafe closes around 6pm. So if you’re looking to stay till dinner time and beyond, you may need to hop over to another cafe!
