So August is always a special month to me, and this year was no different!

Sure a lot of chaotic things went down last month (I spent my birthday locked in the house with a messed up car because of Hurricane Hilary 😂) but I’m focusing on the awesome things I got to do.

I started the month seeing one of my all time favorite bands, Lovejoy. I’ve been following them since their first single thanks to being a Wilbur Soot stream fan. I’m not as into Twitch streams anymore but damn if their music isn’t like crack. Seeing an intimate show was like a wild fever dream come true, and I learned about Wilt which all of their music is also straight bangers and lives on my playlists now.

So that started my month off with a bang, not to mention I got home just in time to watch the 1989 TV announcement. Which I found out later the band went out to meet fans after the show and looking back I wish I’d stayed but ya know hindsight and shit.

The big thing I did for my birthday was attending the first ever Steamy Lit Con. It was the weekend of my birthday and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to celebrate. I not only was exposed to so many amazing authors I hadn’t heard of before, I also got to see some awesome panels with resources for aspiring writers and a lot of really important things to say about mental health in romance novels. I also met my top three authors, which the last three photos are my pictures with them. All three are such amazing women and so kind. I cannot imagine what I’d be doing with my free time if I didn’t know about these women.

Happy birthday to me. Here’s to 23. Seems like August was a decent first chapter if I say so myself.
