Your kids call you what?!

One of the questions we get a lot from people is “what do you boys call you?”

As a two dad family, we are able to break from tradition on our naming convention should we choose.

We debated about what to be called. Scott’s dad wanted to be “Papa” so that was out (although that is certainly a great option!).

When the boys were born we thought Scott would be “Dad” and Thomas would be “Daddy.” Well, when the boys started talking they switched it on us! Now Scott is called “Daddy” and Thomas is called “Dad.”

With that said, there are certainly times where either dad will answer to either name depending on the context. And sometimes the boys clarify “Daddy Scott!” or say “no, the other dad!”

Other combo two dads could consider:

👬🏻 Dad and Dadda

👬🏻 Daddy and Papa

👬🏻 Dad [first name] and Dad [first name]

👬🏻 First names only

Either way, we’re going to answer 😊
