Our List of The Best Halal Eats in Taiwan (Ranked in no particular order)

1) 馬叔餅舖 𝙐𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙚 𝙈𝙖’𝙨/清真風懷舊北京小點 (𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙡-𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙞𝙢-𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙚𝙙)

Uncle Ma’s is known for their Beef Shao Bing (NT$65), a layered flaky flatbread loaded with marinated beef slices. We loved its prominent Chinese five-spice flavour — warm and aromatic.

Other dishes to try: Soup dumplings (NT$150) with a light and mild broth, and beef noodles.

2) 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜’𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙚𝙛 𝙉𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙥 張家清真黃牛肉麵館 (𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙡-𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙞𝙢-𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙚𝙙)

Although the shop mainly sells beef noodles, what took the (pan)cake for us was their Scallion Pancake rolled with Beef and Eggs (NT$100). The perfect midday light snack!

Also try the cold soy milk AKA Dou Jiang (NT$20) — it’s nuttier and tastier than the SG type!

*Note: The store also has a prayer corner with prayer mats, but there’s no ablution area.

3) 𝙂𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙩

This pedestrian road lined is local shops and snack sellers, and had a good variety of Muslim-friendly options (no meat, lard, or alcohol).

We settled (and fell in love) with the fried durian-yam fritter (NT$40/piece). We really enjoyed how the yam’s natural sweetness helped balance the strong durian flavour.

The stall’s other fried sweet snacks look pretty fun too!

4) 𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝘽𝙚𝙚𝙛 𝙉𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩 (清真中國牛肉麵食館)

If you HAVE to have beef noodles, don’t sleep on this Muslim Friendly MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Restaurant!

Order the braised beef noodle with tendon (NT$230) — it’s delicious beefy broth (slightly herbal) blew us away!

5) 𝙏𝙖𝙞𝙥𝙚𝙞 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙦𝙪𝙚

If you’re here on a Friday, visit the largest and oldest mosque in Taiwan — Taipei Grand Mosque.

Every week they host Friday food sales serving Halal food and snacks from different cuisines. Must-tries for us are the Taiwanese options — dumplings, braised tofu, and pastries.

Cooking on vacation? Look out for the Halal frozen meat sold out of a truck after Friday prayers.
