Come With Me To Silverlake Flea!

If LA does one thing right it’s their flea markets. After attending the giant Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena several times, this weekend I decided to check out the smaller and more fashion-focused Silverlake Flea. While other markets often have goods ranging from vintage toys and collectibles to housewares and furniture, the Silverlake Flea is composed exclusively of clothing vendors.

I really appreciated the smaller scale of this market as well as the unique curation of pieces each vendor had to offer. 90’s and Y2K styles were the predominant offering, including upcycled and screen-printed pieces, with most items priced in the $20-$60 range. Many of the vendors had $5 or even $1 bins of clearance items at the front of their tents, and there were truly some amazing finds mixed in.

When visiting the market you will certainly get a lot of sun exposure, so I highly recommend sunscreen and/or a hat if you plan to stay and seriously shop. I also wished I had brought a tote bag to carry my purchases in, since I did not want to have to use a plastic bag. Additionally, there are no fitting rooms in this outdoor market, so I recommend wearing an outfit that is easy to slip clothes over if you want to test the fit before purchasing.

I was able to cross two items off my wish list: a crochet dress and a tiered white maxi skirt. I’m excited to style these pieces for summer, and with only a $25 total I’ll definitely be coming back!
