1st Crop of Carrots!

Check out the beautiful colors on these homegrown carrots!

I started these in their raised bed around mid December. My planting zone is 8A.

I had to cover the baby greens about a 1/2 dozen times throughout January and February until they were large enough to survive a mild frost.

This was the 1st time I used a true raised bed. I haven't had very good luck growing decent carrots in the past and I think it's because our soil gets too hard when it gets a little dry. Definitely wish I had gone with a raised bed sooner!
