BOTM: Bamboozled By Jesus

Disclaimer: I haven’t finished the book. Considering that the heading is titled “Book of the Month,” this is a personal goal I set in 2024 to read 1-2 books a month.

April’s BOTM “Bamboozled by Jesus: How God Tricked Me Into the Life of My Dreams” is written by the hilarious actress Yvonne Orji. If you haven’t heard of Yvonne Orji, it’s because you’re probably more familiar with her role as Issa Rae’s BFF “Molly” in the HBO Original Series Insecure (you can now watch all 5 seasons on Netflix).

“Bamboozled by Jesus” is a self-help autobiography narrated by the actress-author as she shares her unapologetic life into how God had bigger plans over the ones she made, and how to take a different approach to having unfathomable faith in Him. She remixes her real-life situations with biblical stories from the Bible making the novel that much more inspiring and relatable.

I’m gonna try spending the last t-minus 48 hours of April finishing the rest of the book. Add this your audiobooks or share it with your book club, I was truly inspired and it’s also moment where you read holy gems from the Good Book.
