My honest review 🌞 + ♠️ by A.E. Valdez SPOILERS!!!

Two books in 2 days.

I couldn’t stop reading these two books.

& I Don’t see a lot of people recommending it, which mind boggles me!

👍Pros: Characters

I may be biased towards this series. I randomly started to read the first book in the Sunshine & Ace Series, All I’ve Wanted, All I’ve Needed by A.E. Valdez. I don’t even think it was in my TBR, which I’m so upset that it wasn’t, but I genuinely believe these two books came to me at the perfect time. I have fallen in love with many books, but these two books are my personality now.

📕- All I’ve Wanted, All I’ve Needed

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

FMC: Harlow

MMC: Acyn

Reading this book gave me an aha moment in my life. It may not be that with anyone else, but this book fell into my lap at the right time of my life. In the first chapter, I was hooked. Harlow is on a date with her current boyfriend, Hendrix. Little does she know that Hendrix will propose to her on her date. She says no to his proposal. This one sentence resonated with me from the beginning,

Harlow: “Don’t you ever feel like we’re just settling, Hendrix? Almost like we’re together because we’re comfortable, not because we’re in love with one another?”

Hendrix: “Are you saying you’re no longer in love with me?”

Harlow: “I love you, I do, but I can’t say yes to your proposal, knowing that I feel like something is missing from our relationship. I feel like we’re together because it’s what’s expected of us and not because we want to be together. You’re my best friend and…”

(This is where I had my aha moment)

Hendrix : “We can hold off on the engagement if that’s what you want, but please, please don’t ruin us.”

Like, who says, “Don’t ruin us,” the f*** 🤬. I’m glad Harlow stuck to not being with him. She went on a self-discovery journey and moved to an entirely different state after attending a class in Bali, which is why she moved to Seattle in the first place.

That’s where she meets Acyn, tattooed, muscular & only has eyes for her. But it’s not only about their love for one another; it’s the love that Harlow has for herself. Her journey is beautiful, and it gave me a sense of hope since I am currently going through something.

Anyways, Acyn comes into play afterward, and he treats our girl the way she deserves. Which I won’t say anymore other than give y’all this like excerpt:

Harlow gets sick from running her body to the ground while working two jobs and taking photography classes. Acyn comes into her house since they are friends and always hang out. But he goes in to take care of her without her having to ask. (We only ask for the bare minimum)

Harlow: “Acyn?”

Acyn: “Yeah, Sunshine. You’re burning up.”

H: “I feel like shit. You shouldn’t be here. I’ve been puking, and I don’t want to get you sick.”

A: “Eh, I’m strong as an ox. I’ll be fine,” I say as I stroke her hair. She opens her mouth to say something, but abruptly stops as she scrambles off the bed, dashing into the bathroom. Seconds later, I hear retching, followed by puking. I follow her into the bathroom, but she tries to protest.

H: “No –”

She retches and pukes again. I crouch down next to her, pulling her hair back. She tries to push me away, but she rests her hand on my chest after she realizes I’m not moving and goes back to puking. She flushes the toilet and leans back against the tub, wiping her mouth.

H: “You don’t have to help me. "

A: “I know I don’t have to, but what if I want to?”

But read this book for yourself; Harlow’s love for self evolves throughout this book. And the love that Acyn shows to Harlow is everything and more.

📗- The Beginning of Forever

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Now, this book had me in a chokehold! The spice level in this book is *chefs kiss*.

It's their ever-after story. They’re getting ready to get married, but it gets all too much for them, and they decide to elope and keep it a secret from everyone. Throughout this book, Acyn keeps proving why he’s an ideal partner, and Harlow keeps glowing. At one point, they get into an argument with Acyn’s mom, and he stands by his wife throughout the entire thing, even after & he doesn’t even give her lip about being unable to speak to his mom. He stood on business; that’s what I love to see.

Here are a few quotes from the book:

Acyn: “This is about us, Sunshine. My only concern right now is making you my wife.”

Their vows:

Harlow: “Ace, I found a home in you. Wherever we are, as long as I’m with you, I will always be home. I promise you’ll always know love because I’ve loved you across lifetimes and will fiercely love you in this one and beyond.

Acyn: “Sunshine, there aren’t enough words in any language to express how much I love you. It’s indescribable, but I can make sure you feel it. With everything that I am, I promise to show you every day for the rest of my days how much I love you. You’re the heartbeat in my chest and the blood in my veins.”

Their Bachelorette / Bachelor party is at Vagas, and they go to different spots but end up bumping into each other in the lobby where they are staying.

H: (looking in her purse and bumping into Acyn without noticing) “Oh, excuse me. I—”

Acyn: “Look fucking incredible. God fucking damn,” a deep voice that calls to my soul says.

Harlow: I look into Acyn’s eyes, and they’re ablaze for me. “Thank you.” I simper.

Acyn: “No. Thank you for being my wife.”

Harlow: “Forever a pleasure.” I smile at him before glancing at his entourage and realize we stopped them in their tracks. Mission accomplished.
