well, that didn’t go as planned

In the world of mental health care, having someone in your corner that is willing to go above and beyond for your care is necessary and important. It just sucks that my last provider wasn’t like that. The start of our relationship was great, we got along and were on the same page.

It wasn’t until she made a comment that implied that I wasn’t treatable that made me take a step back and think about what I wanted and expected out of my own treatment. My provider made me feel less than because she couldn’t meet my specific needs as a patient. Actions like that are far from helpful especially when it comes to mental health. So I dropped her. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Don’t give up or be discouraged when it comes to advocating for your health and treatment. You deserve the best because you matter. Don’t take disrespect or arrogance from your provider just because of their title. Fight for what matters to you.
