Renter-friendly Nursery Design

Designing a nursery, or any kids space can be so much fun. I always see it as an opportunity to go whimsical and incorporate fun elements that I may not usually do in the other rooms in my home. We found out we were expecting a baby boy, after having three girls and I couldn’t wait to get started in this room.

Wallpapering an accent wall was my starting point. This Gingham print removable wallpaper from Artza Co gave the room some much needed interest while still keeping the calm feeling.

Pairing with the wallpaper I color blocked the rest of the room and painted it a moody blue, NYPD by Behr paint. Paint can be a renters best friend, an easy and cost friendly way to update a space.

We stuck with a natural wood vibe for the room, using mainly Ikea pine furniture to keep it light and airy because it’s quite a small room.

Adding a little warmth with the curtains, woven shades and a pop of colour in an otherwise neutral rug really tied it all together and now we can enjoy this space with our new baby.
