Post - Hurricane Vibes

I’m sure you have heard about hurricane Milton

As someone who was born in Florida and has lived here their whole life, I have lived through a lot of hurricanes.

It has been a really long time since Florida was the talk of the country.

I haven’t seen this much commotion since 2004 and we had 3 b2b hurricanes and a month off of school ✨

It was a crazy time but as a kid it was the BEST. Only because of the time off.

I haven’t really ever been scared or stressed out from a hurricane as I was during #hurricanemilton

I have never evacuated

But my partner and I actually discussed it this time.

But financially it would be to much because of the skyrocketing prices of EVERYTHING

And one of our cats is healing and travel would be to much for them.

I’m thankful because we were in a area that was heavily flooded but

Our home is on high ground and we didn’t flood

We did lose power

And I thought it would be annoying (and it still kinda is)

I have found the beauty in the simple things

I haven’t showered in candle light in awhile

I’ve been missing out

i’m really enjoying the simple things and being brought down to earth.

I’m feeling really grateful that losing power is the only “damage” that occurred for us
