I can’t tell people enough, having ADHD is already a struggle, and people with ADHD experience learning differently. My ADHD does not look the same as your ADHD.

I was embarrassed to ask for accommodations because why would I try to get help when other people don’t get help and do just fine!

I talked to my therapist about it and she told me that that way of thinking was wrong. My brain functions at a different baseline compared to the normal brain so me getting accommodations did not give me an extra push above everyone else.

What it gave me was a push into the right direction to be able to meet everyone else where they are at. It made it an even playing field.
