I absolutely love the flavor of gochujang and think it makes the easiest quick and flavorful sauce for just about anything. Lately I have been loving it combined with honey and sesame for a quick and easy sauce on top of salmon.

Recipe:

• 1 tbsp of gochujang

• 1 tbsp of hot honey

• 2 tbsp of sesame oil + extra for rubbing on the salmon

• salt

• 2 salmon filets

In a small bowl combine the gochujang, honey, and sesame oil and stir well to combine. Add about 1 tsp of sesame oil to the fish and salt it well. In a skillet over medium heat add another 1 tbsp of oil - just enough to coat the bottom of the pan (can use sesame, coconut, avocado, etc.) and let it heat until it’s glistening. Add the salmon, skin side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is browned. Flip and cook an additional 1-2 minutes. Flip again so the skin side is down once more and then rub the salmon with the gochujang mixture. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the salmon has reached your desired done-ness. Serve with rice, Korean cucumber salad, kimchi, or your favorite veggie!
