First time trying this Takoyaki recipe on my Bruno hotplate and it's a success!

6 Takoyaki will cost about $6 to $8+ in store, but I made about 38 balls with one pack of $2.16 Takoyaki premix bought from Diaso.

It might be a little time consuming but super satisfying!

馃槤 Pros: Low cost, easy to make

馃槴 Cons: Never knew Takoyaki are so oily~

馃槑 Verdict: Will make it again!

馃The secret is to be generous with the oil, otherwise it won't cook properly.

Here's a video of how it's made and the recipe is below. Try it! If you don鈥檛 have a Bruno hotpot, you can just get a Takoyaki grill plate from online shops.

Ingredients:

馃1 egg

馃帍1 pack of takoyaki premix (from Diaso or Don Don Donki)

馃挦 Water (follow amount stated on your mix)

馃 Oil (I used olive oil butter)

馃悷Mayo, takoyaki sauce, bonito flakes (from Diaso or Don Don Donki)

How to make:

1. Mix takoyaki premix, egg and water in a big stirring bowl

2. Pour the batter into a sauce bottle (also bought from diaso)

3. Apply generous amount of oil on the BRUNO Takoyaki hotplate

4. Let the oil heat up before pouring in the batter

5. Add in fillings (I boiled some crabstick and prawn beforehand)

6. When the outer layer starts to turn golden brown, turn them over and stuff the excess in to form a ball. (Most fun part of the process!)

7. Add mayo, takoyaki sauce, bonito flakes

I think this taste so much better than store-bought ones and I can add whatever fillings I want. Next time, I will try cheese, ham and spring onion.
