The last time I was in awe at a shopping mall was in Australia (You should check out my article on it).

And since then, I have been waiting for my next flight back to Australia for another wardrobe revamp. (I am dead serious)

But who knew that what I was looking for was simply an hour flight away. 🤯

🫠I haven’t visited Malaysia in 10+ years and recently, when my mother decided to drag me with her to explore Cameron Highlands, we HAD to stop by KL. [ Check out my previous article on our adventure]

Over the years, plenty of our friends told us that they visit Johor every weekend for the food and shopping.

❌ But honestly, we couldn’t bear the long wait at customs (Hats off to folks crossing the border every day for work).

And also the lack of safety over there, with plenty of Singaporeans getting robbed and stuff. (So no, thank you)

🚘 However, since we had a stopover in KL, we decided to step out of our comfort zone and explore the city. (We were super cautious)

In our 3D2N stay there, we explored 3 malls that were nearby our hotel (I found the best hotel in KL, will share it in the next article.) 🏘

🚩Ranking them from the best to the least attractive:

🫣 I apologise ahead if I sound hoity-toity but apart from the quality of the stores, I rank the malls by cleanliness (clean toilets are a MUST!) and food options (meaning vegetarian/vegan-friendly).

1. LaLaport (weird name for a mall)

- Extremely clean toilet – better than SG which had us impressed

- HUGE Mall (could take a day to explore if you went to every store)

✅ Stores that I highly recommend to check-out at LaLaport:

- They still have forever21! Like whut!

- Max Fashion ( Top quality outfits at affordable price)

2. Pavillion mall

- Clean toilet – still better than SG

- Has many luxury brands, but

- It resembles Singapore's Orchard Road (multiple malls at walking distance from each other)

- Has a 10% tourist discount ( need to show your passport at the customer service counter)

3. Berjaya Times Square

- The last time I visited this place was when I was in Primary School. And disappointingly, the place still looks the same – has not been renovated or upgraded.

- The mall resembles Singapore's Bugis Street

- But… if you just wanted to go and check out the theme park rides in the mall… sure.

I also had to add that KL malls are better than SG because it has a good balance of trendy styles and modest clothing. 🤩

Most importantly, they have clothes that suit various age groups and body sizes. (They have up to 3XL) 🙆🏾‍♀

Not only was I spoiled for options, but my mother was also having the time of her life, stopping at almost every store.

🛫 I am looking forward to my next trip there, hope you guys like this piece, see you on the next one!
