I’m not a vegetarian, and I enjoy a standard burger, but every now and then, a great veggie burger catches my eye! Here are four that are worth checking out in NYC.

19 Cleveland has a great Spicy Falafel Veggie Burger. It’s packed with veggies, and fried to a crisp! It’s topped with avocado, jalapeno mayo, and boston lettuce and is served with handcut fries. It’ll leave you satisfied, but not overly full. While here, I also recommend trying their hummus! It gets busy here, especially during prime times, so I recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

Figaro cafe in Greenwich Village has a great homemade veggie burger. It’s topped with bibb lettuce and yellow mustard sauce, and is served on a house made brioche bun. They have a bunch of other great vegetarian options, in addition to meat-focused dishes. If you stay for dessert, I recommend their s’mores baked alaska.

Superiority Burger is a vegetarian restaurant in the East Village with a funky vibe, and excellent food. I absolutely loved their veggie burger. It had so much flavor. It’s served with pickles, muenster cheese, mustard, tomato, and mayo.

Shake Shack West Village recently launched a new veggie burger that’s made of mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro, and quinoa. I was skeptical, but it was really good. I personally would get it without the cheese next time, as I don’t love American cheese, but this is a great lighter option to try here. It’s available at all Shack Shack shops nationwide. If you have a sweet tooth afterwards, I recommend trying their custard!
