4 Spots to Check Out in Milan

One might argue that it would be hard to have a “bad” meal in Italy, but here are four tried and true spots to try if you want to guarantee you’ll have a special meal on your next trip to Milan!

Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone - since 1957 is a beautiful indoor/outdoor restaurant in Milan with a large menu. I especially enjoyed the pastas here, with my favorite being the Orecchiette con Pomodorini e Burrata. The sauce was bursting with flavor. You also can’t go wrong with their Tagliolini con Funghi Porcini.

Paper Moon Giardino is another indoor/outdoor restaurant, and dinner there was my favorite meal of our trip. From the burrata to the fish, all of the food was incredibly fresh. The restaurant was willing to make customizations to menu items, and let us order an off-menu gnocchi with pomodoro sauce. It was excellent.

Antica Osteria Cavallini is a decades-old restaurant with a beautiful outdoor patio and a large menu with many meat and pasta options. I went with the veal cutlet Milanese here, and greatly enjoyed it.

All'Antico Vinaio is better in Italy and nobody can tell me otherwise! I enjoyed the Paradiso sandwich with a robust mortadella, stracciatella cheese, pistachio cream, and chopped pistachios on a warm schiacciate bread.
