DIY Outside Painting

The first picture is what was on the listing when we bought our house. I wasn’t crazy about the color & definitely hated the color of the wood shingles on the front.

In 2021 we decided to get the paint, borrow a paint sprayer & recruit my dad for help. We had never used a paint sprayer before & he helped us whip it out in just a couple hours.

The second ‘before’ picture is when we power washed the house to get all the loose paint chips off before painting. It made the house look awful but definitely helped the wooden shingles. lol.

We had seen dark blue on some houses & loved the way it looked with white trim. Then we decided on a darker stain for the shingles & I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

I’ve been working hard over the last couple years to get my flowerbed thriving & now it makes the house have so much more curb appeal. Just need to add some bright colored flowers.

We also added the concrete patio in 2018 because the dirt/grass area next to the porch was a nightmare to keep maintained. Plus this just gave another seating area in the front.

This has been a great first home for us & fixing it up one space at a time.
