Singapore’s “Hyunam-Dong” Bookshop?! YES PLS! 🤩📚☕️✨

After the book signing event at Bras Basah Complex (organised by @definitelybooks and @popular_singapore), i went to Bommoi Bookstore which was a short walking distance from Bras Basah Complex and City Hall MRT. Upon stepping into the bookstore, an instant wave of homely and zen vibes welcomed me. The café, with its calming ambience, proved to be the perfect spot to unwind with a cup of coffee and indulge in a good read. 😌 In this Korean bookstore, the book selection leans towards a focus on Korean literature, particularly a plethora of enchanting picture books crafted for children. While predominantly Korean, there’s also a thoughtful collection of translated works, adding diversity to the reading options available. The exceptionally friendly owner welcomed me with a warm “안녕하세요.” During our brief conversation, she shared that the bookstore is a recent addition to the area, having opened its doors in April 2023.

I went to the book cafe before in January 2024 but i didn’t get a chance to try their coffee and snacks! This time, i ordered their iced milk coffee and their small bite of the day special which a 2 layered vanilla sponge cake with strawberry filling. It was just what i needed after a long day. ✨🍰☕️

I would love to gate keep this to myself but i believe there are others just like me who would appreciate independent bookstores and would love to support them! 🫶🏽
