my honest weight journey

i’ve been all kinds of sizes and versions of me. and each size was a different attitude and mental health.

i’ve ALWAYS struggled with weight. i’ve always been a big girl except in high school. but even then bigger than most girls. but my adult years i’ve always been in double digit clothes.

but i have a whole different perspective of health after giving birth to my daughter. i care more about my health than “losing weight” i feel that once your eating habits change and you start moving your body more. the weight loss will follow. but i want to be healthy. healthy for my daughter, for me, for my husband, my family, and for my mental health. i want to be healthy. so i look at all the photos of me being thin and i WASNT healthy. i ate like crap but worked out. i was depressed and anxious and miserable. then i have the photos of right before getting pregnant. i was big. i was plus size. i was eating healthier but i stopped working out. but i was happy. i found Christ. i got myself together. slowly my anxieties left.

then i got pregnant. and i got perspective. and i realized. i never want to have a plus size pregnancy again but i also want to have a healthy pregnancy AND birth. and this little girl is going to also grow up and have hormonal changes, body changes, and just everything changes. and i want to be an example of a healthy look to Christ, life, food, and body image. but i can only be a GOOD example if i practice it myself.

so here’s to a healthy lifestyle not a get skinny lifestyle.
