are you a people pleaser? read this book ☝️

❝ – #BookReview : The Summer Girl by Elle Kennedy

✫ So far this is my 9th book from Elly Kennedy and out of that, only 1 was a miss. The Summer Girl was another hit although not that HIT hit.

✫ Having read Love Theoretically before this book, it gave me a good chance to compare the people pleasing trope. Ps: I didn't plan this 😂

The Summer Girl wrote people pleasing trope just as how it should be. Clear backstory that caused it, people pleaser struggles were mentioned and the recovery was done at a good pace, within her own wills and was so mature. There was no lashing out (read my review on Love Theoretically to understand this point), and she didn't stray away from her real character while standing up for herself.

✫ There were cameos from Avalon Bay 1 & 2 . I think what I liked about Elle Kennedy's writing was the way it can bring a bunch of characters together yet each of them is different just by reading the dialogues. And they're good together you know? Like there's a harmony - idk how to explain this lolol.

✫ Nonetheless, I think there wasn't enough UMPH in this book and series as a whole. But, I finished it and enjoyed the characters. Will I miss Avalon Bay? Probably not. But it was a pretty good memory :)
