Solo travel to Rome, Italy tips

Things I discovered as a solo traveler that I wish I knew before traveling to Rome, Italy

- We all know that some cities and counties are not safe for solo travelers. Before traveling to Rome solo, I didn't think I would feel safe at all and all the research I did didn't mention being the safest.

- I went to Rome for 24 hours with a detailed itinerary and options to do what I could, but I was surprised that I got to do everything and more and I was out until 4am and I felt safer here than I did in New York.

- I had some cultural shock, like how I freaked out when I saw how close a car was behind me and didn't horn at all.

- Rome is pretty small and you can explore it in 24 hours and still have time to catch the sunset.

The food here is different as they mix different types of food that you didn't think would go together. For example, I had a beef tartare that came with ice cream, nuts, popcorn and crackers and my mind was blown. They have 3 types of spritz, of which two don't use aperol at all.

- The stop signs still make an impression on me as the longest change for pedestrians I have ever seen.

- The neighborhood called "Monti" is the best place to be in Rome.
