1. SMU is a private university.

According to this FAQ on the Business School’s website, SMU is set up as Singapore’s first publicly-funded private university based off The Wharton School

2. SMU functions on a 4 point GPA system rather than a 5 point system adopted by other universities like NUS, NTU or SUSS.

3. SMU requires students to have overseas exposure or they can't graduate!

However, this overseas exposure can take many forms.

It could take the form of an international exchange programme, overseas community projects, representing SMU in international competitions, overseas study missions or internships.
