1. Before I figured out what type of learner I was it was so hard for me to focus and understand things in class. There are four different types of learners and you may be a combination. There are kinesthetic, read/write, auditory, and visual. I am a read/write, to learn more you can look on google.

2. It can be boring going home and making flash cards everyday. So make it so that you look forward to studying and learning. Find different friends, places (cafes, libraries, ect.), and ways to study.

3. If you choose to go somewhere else to study make sure it fits you. If you prefer a busy place around lots of people and lots of noise you may choose a cafe. If you prefer the quiet you may want to look into going to a library. Or if you decide to stay home, light a candle and turn on some music to study to.

4. Your teachers are here for a reason!! I know it seems like the most embarrassing thing to ask for help (believe me, I’ve been there) but they are happy to. They want to make sure you understand and are succeeding not just giving up because you are too afraid to ask for help.

5. It may feel like your friends are the most important thing in your life, and as much as you should make friends and have good times. There is a balance, don’t only focus on grades and school, but also make sure you focus on yourself. Real friends will understand if you want to get your homework done and focus on school. You are helping future you out! Support yourself!
