Summer in Minnesota can be extremely fun if you know what to do! I compiled a short list of things you might want to do if you get the chance to visit in the summer.

1. Hit the lake!

-We have lots of lakes to choose from. If you don’t know anyone here to take you out on the boat, there are lots of places that rent out boats, kayaks, canoes, and other water sport equipment! Not a fan of boats? Go for a swim on many of the lakes beaches or fish off the shoreline! Pictures above is Cedar Lake just about 20 minutes outside of Buffalo, MN. There is a nice beach and campground to stay at. Great Lake for swimming, boating, tubing, jet skis, and admiring the houses along the shore.

2. Visit a historical site!

-Minnesota has a lot of historical sites to see. The MNHS website has a list of many of the popular places you can visit and tour. There are many historic farms, lighthouses, mansions, and other various sites to see! I personally love to see the beauty of these places in the summer when the gardens are blooming. Pictured above is Glensheen Mansion in Duluth.

3. Catch a baseball game!

-If you like sports you can catch a Twins game at Target Field or a Saints game at CHS Field. I love baseball and the atmosphere of both stadiums is extremely fun! Both stadiums also have events outside of baseball such as concerts, expos, and festivals. Pictures above is one of many Twins games I have been to at Target Field in Minneapolis.

4. Visit a zoo!

-There are a few zoos in Minnesota. Minnesota Zoo, Como Zoo (pictured above), Hemker Park and Zoo, Lake Superior Zoo, and a few smaller animal experiences. Como Zoo is free (donations suggested) in Saint Paul and also has a botanical garden and sometimes a butterfly garden. You can also enjoy Cafesjian's Carousel at Como Zoo, an antique restored carousel for all ages!
