Are Jordan and Nike the same?

I have a huge love for sneakers and these are some of the apps that i shop off of. I’ve gotten a few comments about my word choice when it comes to jordans and nikes. I’m huge on both and yes, i see them as practically seperate brands since:✔️🫶

1. MJ makes money off of JORDANS since its a collaboration with nike and himself

2.When speaking about shoes i call my jordan’s JORDANS or j’s not nikes.

3. Jordan is owned by Nike but practically a separate brand. Just like, Hurley and Converse. ( when you speak about converse, do you call them nikes?)

Now, i do understand that nike is extremely close in production with jordan, let alone it has the nike swoosh on the shoe. Although, i truly believe the true sneaker heads would understand that calling Jordans, “nikes” are a big no-no!

This is a huge debate since Jordans are one of nikes first huge collaboration!
