TAOBAO 101: work smart, not cheap ❌

Hi zesties!

You guys seem to love my previous taobao post so I’m back with a new one! I loveeeee shopping on Taobao since its so cheap and I especially love getting winterwear from here 🤭 BUT while being a cheapo is a plus point, do you ever felt SO DISAPPOINTED when the item you expected is totally off?! #BeReal

That’s me…… just look at what I got 🤣 initially I wanted an inspired Birkenstock thinking it won’t go so off…… but I shouldve trusted my gut feelings before buying because JUST WHAT DID I GET IN REALITY?! Colour is off, shape and design are also super ugly 🥲

so I learnt my mistakes, and I’m here to share with you!

👍 Tip 1: LOOK AT THE REVIEWS

Reviews are so important and especially if theres thousands of them… it gives you a gauge of what you can expect from the item, and there’s even a Q&A section where buyers like us communicate with one another and ask question! Similar to other online ecommerces, you get to see real life pic and sometimes videos! So if there’s zero reviews and zero interactions… you know what to do 😅

👍 Tip 2: LOOK AT THE SELLER’S TIERING

I recently learnt from my friend that the rating below the seller’s name/beside the profile picture says alot! For a trustable brand, the icon normally looks like a crown while a brand that is new/less known will look like a diamond! 🤭

Think of it as a tiering, the crown is akin to being the best! Plus, it also shows the number of followers/fans! So the more the merrier - and true to that, one of my favourite brand has got to be this Kumikumi hehe (should I do another post on which seller to shop at?)

👍 WORK SMART, NOT CHEAP:

Don’t be like the old me - while buying with discounts and under the 249 yuan free shipping category works, sometimes its a hit or miss. Better to spend that few more bucks (while it’s already cheap!) than to get disappointed and having that hussle to sell/return back!
