Satisfy your Thai cravings at Kra Pow

In Thai, Kra Pow means ‘holy basil’, and Kra Pow restaurant serves an extensive selection of menu – with choices from Tom Yum Soup, Curry, noodles, rice and a variety of side dishes.

We ordered the following to share (which were more than enough for the 3 of us):

Tom Yum Seafood Refreshing Clear Soup $12.50

Crispy Thai Wing $8.50

Deep Fried Pork Belly $15.90

Drunkard Noodle $9

Pad See Ew $9

We love all the dishes that we had ordered. If you’re going alone, do try their popular Drunkard Noodle – one of my favourite! The Drunkard Noodle is a stir-fried kway teow with minced pork (you can also choose either chicken or seafood), basil and chilli. The noodle may not look appealing but all that flavour in it would keep you wanting for more – the dish is not overtly spicy but fiery enough to give you a kick that will linger in your mouth.

If you are not a fan of spicy food, you can consider getting the Pad See Ew, a dish that is pretty similar to our fried kway teow – a simple dish packed full of that wok-hey.

Do note that you can only order at the counter and required to make payment right after ordering. Just a note though, the staff there may not always be very friendly and at times may sound impatient and rude, however, I would still go back there because the good food makes up for this shortcoming. Also, be prepred to queue during peak hours.
