I did a thing today…and I absolutely LOVE IT😭

I’ve been letting my hair grow out, but having long hair is tough when your hair is thin. Mine has grown so unevenly, and it started flattening out the top of my head.

I’ve also noticed that my hair isn’t holding highlights as well as it used to when I was in high school, so I decided to go for all over blonde and just get root touch ups every 4-5 weeks for maintenance.

When I told my stylist I wanted all over blonde, she as well as the other stylists tried sooo hard to persuade me to stick with highlights. But I knew what I wanted and I went with it.

Whenever your stylist tries to persuade you to do something that you’re not asking for, and you know it’s something you want, BE FIRM with them. I had to explain several times that I didn’t want the “blended” look that highlights gave and that I didn’t mind doing root touch ups often, because I was already getting touch ups often and the “blended” look just looked tacky on me.

The bangs were kind of a “spur of the moment” situation😂 I’ve always hated my forehead and how my hair looks when it’s up due to my face shape. So I specifically asked for wispy bangs with face framing pieces. It’ll take some getting used to, and they’re still parting down the middle, but I absolutely love this look for me.

I took off around 4 inches of my hair and got a blunt cut with long layers to give some fluff and energy back to the top of my head as well.

BUT -

Moral of the story, your stylist means well, but nobody knows your hair better than you. Do what YOU want to YOUR hair. You’ll be glad you did♥️
