Investing into your health and wellness in my opinion is priceless, because there is nothing more important than your health. But when you are balling on a budget, investing in your wellness does not need to be expensive.

Finding activities that benefit your mental health and/or your physical health are both so important, and often times these activities don’t need to cost a dime.

Option number one- outdoor activities. I say outdoor for a reason, because you can soak in some vitamin D while you are at it. Many people are vitamin D deficient, which can be linked to depression, chronic fatigue, poor immune system, and more. There are so many free outdoor activities you can do. If you have a bike or roller skates you can do that. You can go on a walk and listen to a podcast. You can go for a swim at the local recreation center. You can go to pickleball at free courts! If you don’t have any free courts, then you can go to tennis courts and carve out your own pickleball court.

Taking a bath. Y’all, if you don’t take a bath a week you are missing out. Epsom salt reduces inflammation, helps with your stress levels, helps relax your muscles, and more. You can grab a book or listen to your favorite podcast. Just unwind and relax! Give yourself those 20-30 minutes of simply relaxation and time to yourself.

Spending time with friends and loved ones 🩵 Spending time with people who you love genuinely makes such a difference for your emotional health. It is good for your soul, it brings laughter to your life, you have a place to vent and unload stress if you need to, and so many more things. Never underestimate the power of even just five minutes on the phone with your best friend, your mom, your sister, or whoever else makes you happy.

Add these simple, free wellness activities into your life every single day if you can, and if not at least every week, and see how much better your emotional and physical health will be.
