Slow Cooker Cracker Barrel Fried Apples Recipe

Ingredients:

6 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Fuji), peeled, cored, and sliced

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 cup apple cider or apple juice (optional)

Instructions:

In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and lemon juice until well combined.

Place the sliced apples in the slow cooker.

Pour the butter and spice mixture over the apples, ensuring they are evenly coated.

If desired, pour the apple cider or apple juice over the apples to add extra moisture and flavor.

Cover the slow cooker and cook the apples on LOW for 4-6 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized.
